As teachers, we love to incorporate the holidays into our lessons. Our students have always loved learning about different holiday traditions around the world but we found ourselves having to create our own resources year after year. As teachers, it is important to us that we have an inclusive classroom that supports all of our students and their traditions and gives each student the opportunity to expand their horizons. That is why we decided to create math crafts for winter holidays around the world!
These Math Crafts let you incorporate Social Studies and Math into your holiday crafting time. With each one, we do a mini-lesson on the holiday and where it is celebrated in the world. We’ve been lucky and had some amazing parent and teacher volunteers come in to speak about these different traditions as well. Students love hearing personal experiences so make sure to ask around for volunteers to come to your class!
