Winter Craftivities for 1st and 2nd grade

freebies

This winter make it easy on yourself by incorporating easy-to-prep, FUN craftivities to reinforce key Math and ELA skills in the classroom. These crafts correspond with 1st and 2nd grade common core standards, making them easy to tie in as extension activities throughout the month. Students enjoy cutting, pasting and matching to create unique projects that can be easily differentiated to meet the needs of all learners in your classroom. Craftivities are visually appealing, and make instant eye-catching bulletin board displays. Check out some more below, and score a FREEBIE of one of our favorites while you’re here!

Students will count the syllables in winter words and sort them on a fun penguin craft!

Students will practice their ability to form number bonds up to 20 while making a fun snow scene.

Students will survey their friends, families or school staff to find out what arctic animal is the favorite! Then, they will record results on an interactive graph craft.

Sort “sh”, “ch” and “th” words by cutting and pasting pictures on the snowballs.

Students will have multiple opportunities to form fact family equations on a fun snowman that they assembled. Hang them on student lockers for an eye-catching display.

Students will decide if equations are true or false, and then sort them on an adorable snowman craft that they can personalize.

Read winter sight words and write them in the correct boxes based on letter size and shape. Then, put them together to make a pair!

Students will identify a variety of winter words, and then sort by 1 syllable and not one 1 syllable. Then, students use vocabulary word cards as a guide to writing the words on the mug for additional practice.
